Why Aquaventures?

Why AquaVentures? We, like our name suggests, feel swimming is a journey and an adventure from start to finish. We are a passionate and dedicated team of 3, committed to making your swimming journey as perfect and memorable as possible. No matter what age it is learnt - it’s never too late! We truly believe swimming is the most important life skill a person can gain. From baths and showers to swimming in the pool or sea, it is crucial water safety and confidence is instilled from an early age. Our aim is to ensure every single person we teach is given the opportunity to learn at their own pace, in a safe and friendly environment, whilst most importantly having FUN! Our lessons are planned around each individual, following our tailor made awards criteria to ensure we can encourage all of our AquaVenturers to reach their full potential! We hope to provide the best environment to develop your child’s swimming ability and help them to find a love for it just as we do.

Beth

Hi I’m Beth,


I have been a swimming teacher for almost 8 years now. I absolutely love what I do, teaching is my passion and I’m super lucky that I get to do this every day as my job. I adore watching the children evolve from babies to toddlers, with adorable personalities. This job is super rewarding to watch the children progress and see them grow more confident and ‘AquaVenturous’. No two days are ever the same in this job and I love it! I love getting to know each child individually and building a super strong bond with them, I look forward to watching your little people grow with you and hope that I can help to shape their future with one of the most important life skills you can teach!

Kyle

Hi I’m Kyle,


I have been working with children for 10 years, the first 3 years as a sports coach delivering sports/p.e lessons in primary schools until I really found my passion as a swimming teacher and for almost 7 years I’ve loved every moment. From being able to see and teach parents and babies starting their AquaVentures and toddlers learning and developing water skills to children honing them. It truly is an Aquaventure from start to finish! I have an encouraging and Fun approach to lessons to fully enable kids to enjoy and develop their ability and love for swimming and for it to be a lesson they look forward to as much as I do.

Sophie

Hi I’m Sophie,


I’m delighted to join the AquaVentures team! Being a mum myself; I love working in a teaching/supporting role with all ages, as well as having a great love of swimming. With a creative background, I like to make lessons and games in the water fun, along with my passion for music and playing instruments, I have plenty of new songs to share (singing voice disclaimer in advance!). In my spare time I am a huge animal lover, enjoy the great outdoors and love being a mother. I am so happy to be a swimming teacher with AquaVentures, and I am looking forward to seeing our swimmers grow in confidence and see their progress on their learning journey.

Our Lessons

Tiddlers
Our Tiddler lessons are for ages 3 months up to 12 months with parents in the water. It is the perfect introduction to the water and the start to their AquaJourney! We do lots of work on water confidence, ensuring your child is content in the water. We encourage lots of splashing in a variety of holds. We also introduce 3 different types of submersions at this age.
Toddlers
This is where your little ones grow from a baby into a super little AquaVenturer. Our toddler lessons range from 12 months up to 24 months. We will introduce swim discs first into your child’s lesson during this time, then we incorporate the Swimfin when your child is physically strong enough. Every child progresses at a different rate! Towards the end of the toddler awards, parental involvement is drastically reduced, and we try to phase parents out completely. Exciting!!
Tykes
Our tykes lessons range from 2 up to 4 years old. This is when your little ones become super AquaVenturous! We take your little ones at this point from a Swim fin + 3 discs at the start of their tyke journey, to just a Swimfin by the end! We continue to develop their strength and confidence and prepare them for their most important chapter. All the groundwork has now been covered and they are ready to embark on their final Adventure.
Tweens
At the start of their Tween journey we will introduce technique at a suitable pace whilst still encouraging lots of fun! Once we have consolidated a strong technique, the fin is phased out and we focus more on stamina drills. We will take them through lots of key skills such as; treading water, sculling, push and glides and forwards rolls before they finish up as a strong confident swimmer! Your child will now be the most AquaVenturous swimmer of all!
